Bridgeport, W.Va. – While the teams remained scoreless for the first 70 minutes of action on Wednesday night, West Liberty scored a pair of goals only four minutes apart in the 73
rd and 77
th minute to earn the 2-0 shutout of Salem at The Bridge Sports Complex. The win not only secures the season sweep of the Tigers for the Hilltoppers, but it matches the program's all-time record for wins in a season. The Black & Gold previously reached the six win mark on five different occasions in 2013, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2021.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- West Liberty broke the scoreless tie in the 73rd minute as Morgan Kost played a short touch pass from Amelia Compston just inside the 18 yard box and found the back right corner of the goal.
- Just over four minutes later in the 77th minute, Compston took the ball off a free kick and beat her defender around corner on the left side of the box to fire the ball into the back right corner of the net to extend the lead to 2-0
- West Liberty held the advantage in shots (26-3), shots-on-goal (18-2), and corner kicks (9-0) while Salem held the edge in Saves (16-2).
- Playing in her first career game, goalkeeper Emma Rogers started and played all 90 minutes in goal and notched a shutout with two saves in the contest.
- The Hilltoppers posted 20 or more shots and ten or more shots-on-goal for the third time this season.
