West Liberty, W.Va. – Bracing a cold, rainy day on the hilltop, the West Liberty University women's soccer team battled to a 2-2 draw with (RV) Frostburg State, who entered the game having already clinched the MEC North Division Championship. The Hilltoppers stunned the Bobcats early by taking a 2-0 lead in the first half, becoming the first team to score multiple goals against FSU all season long and the first to find the net since October 7. Frostburg would, however, cut the lead in half before the break and tie the match halfway through the second half. Prior to kickoff the Black & Gold recognized three graduating seniors in the program as
Georgia Richardson,
Anne Williams, and
Mckenzie Hayes played their final game at the West Family Athletic Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Amelia Compston gave West Liberty the 1-0 lead in the 19th minute of play as her corner kick bounced off the hands of Ashley Bilger in goal for Frostburg State and into the net. The Hilltoppers received their first corner kick of the game as Morgan Kost led the attack from midfield and forced Bilger to make a diving save on a shot placed just inside the near post from inside the 18 yard box.
- Maya Taggart extended the lead for the Black & Gold in the 35th minute as she tracked down a long pass from Compston at the top of the 18 yard box and proceeded to sneak the ball between Bilger and a Bobcat defender and watched her shot bounce off the left post into the net.
- With her goal and assist in the opening half, Compston became the program's single-season record holder in both goals (9) and assists (5). She also broke WLU's single season points record in the previous match against Salem on Wednesday.
- Frostburg State cut the WLU lead in half in the 43rd minute as Catherine Smith regained control of the ball after her shot was deflected off a corner kick and quickly fired a shot into the top left corner of the net from the top of the 18 yard box.
- The Bobcats scored the lone goal of the second half in the 67th minute as Smith found the back of the net for the second time on the day to tie the match. Mei Homman retrieved the ball after it was deflected out to the top left corner of the 18 yard box on a corner kick set, and proceeded to fire a pass through WLU defenders to Smith who was attacking the net at the top of the six yard box and placed the ball into the left side of the net.
- Frostburg State held the advantage in shots (26-7), shots-on-goal (8-5), and corner kicks (7-5) while West Liberty held the edge in saves (6-3).
