West Liberty Welcomes No. 3 Charleston to the Hilltop

West Liberty, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's soccer team will play their fourth game of the year against a nationally ranked opponent when they welcome No. 3 Charleston to the hilltop on Wednesday evening. The Hilltoppers look to avoid the season sweep when they kickoff at 6 p.m. at the West Family Athletic Complex against the Golden Eagles.

WEST LIBERTY STORYLINES
  • West Liberty enters Wednesday's match with a record of 5-5-4 (4-5-2 MEC) on the season and is currently sixth in the Mountain East Conference standings with 14 points through 11 matches.
  • The Hilltoppers look to return to the win column having posted a record of 0-3-2 in their last five matches after a 2-1 loss on the road to (RV) Notre Dame on Sunday afternoon.
  • Mark Donnelly leads West Liberty with four goals on the year while Vitor Otsuka has found the back of the net three times this season. Jan Goebel, Zachary Forehand, and Oskar Voges have each added a pair of goals.
  • Otsuka is one of six players on the team with an assist and has notched a team-high of six, which is tied for second most in the MEC. Goebel, Rhys Lewis, Tim Stickland, Shimon Ichimiya, and Jasper Newton each have one.
