HOW IT HAPPENED
- West Liberty's best scoring opportunity of the first half occurred in the 15th minute when Zachary Forehand played a long pass down the field from Vitor Otsuka and he was able to sidestep the oncoming goalkeeper, however his momentum carried him towards the out-of-bounds line and forced an awkward shot off the left post.
- Charleston scored the lone goal of the first half in the 19th minute when Giorgos Diakos received a pass from Joao Belmudes in the six yard box and snuck the ball into a narrow window inside the near post.
- The Golden Eagles scored a pair of goals in a span of two minutes early in the second half. Jack Kay scored first in the 50th minute when he received a header pass from Ken Raghoebar and spun around at the top of the six yard box to place the ball into the left side of the net. Then Joseph Gasper drew a foul as he was attacking into the 18 yard box in the 52nd minute and Belmudes proceeded to put the penalty kick into the left side of the net.
- UC scored the final goal of the match in the 83rd minute when Francisco Anton received a pass from Caio Moraes near the WLU sideline and placed a high, arching shot into the top left corner of the net over the outstretched hands of Noah Underwood.
- Linus Ebert tallied the only two shot attempts of the second half for the Hilltoppers, with the best scoring opportunity occurring in the 85th minute as he stole the ball away from a Charleston midfielder and proceeded to attack through multiple UC defenders. He then fired an open shot from the top of the 18 yard box with the ball sailing just over the top crossbar.
- Charleston held the advantage in the match in shots (24-5), shots-on-goal (13-0), and corner kicks (4-3) while West Liberty held the edge in saves (9-0).
