Athens, W.Va. – The West Liberty University volleyball team pushed their win streak to four matches, securing their second consecutive weekend sweep with a 3-1 victory at Concord on Saturday afternoon. After dropping the opening set the Hilltoppers responded by taking three straight, winning the match with set scores of 14-25, 25-17, 25-13, and 25-17 in the Carter Center Gym 2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Concord opened the match with a 6-2 scoring run to seize control early. With kills by Liv McAtee, Katelynn Fritz, Page Gross, and Leah Driscoll, West Liberty took four of the next six points to cut the deficit back to two, however the Mountain Lions responded with an 8-2 run to push their lead to eight points. A trio of kills by McAtee helped slow the CU momentum during a 6-2 WLU run, but it wouldn't be enough as Concord closed the set with seven consecutive points and clinched the 25-14 set win.
- After dropping the first set, West Liberty opened the second set with a kill by Grace Hill which led to an early 3-1 advantage. Concord took the next two points before the teams exchanged the next four points to be tied at five apiece. Gross sent down a pair of kills to power a 5-1 scoring run before the Mountain Lions responded with their own to tie the match at 11 apiece once again. The Hilltoppers swung the momentum in their direction midway through the frame with a 10-3 run to grab a 21-14 lead. After CU ended the stretch of five consecutive WLU points, West Liberty clinched the set with four of the final six points and a kill by Fritz to win 25-17.
- Concord opened set three by taking two of the first three points, before West Liberty rallied off five consecutive points starting on a kill from McAtee to take a 6-2 lead. A pair of CU attack errors momentarily pushed the WLU lead to six points, before Concord cut it back to three with a 5-2 run. The Hilltoppers seized control of the frame and pushed the lead to double digits (19-9) as a pair of kills from Fritz powered a 7-0 scoring run. The teams briefly traded the next five points before the Black & Gold put away the set with a kill by Fritz, clinching the 25-13 win by taking four of the final five points.
- West Liberty continued the momentum into the fourth set as a kill by Fritz put the Hilltoppers in front 5-1 early. Concord responded with three of the next four points, but Driscoll added a pair of kills for yet another 5-1 run to push the lead to 11-5. A 9-4 scoring run brought the Mountain Lions back within a single point at 15-14, however the Hilltoppers never allowed them to tie the score and would clinch the match with seven of the final eight points and a service ace by Dakoda Keni earning match point at 25-17.
- West Liberty held the advantage in the match with a .305 attack percentage compared to .154 for Concord. The Hilltoppers held the edge in points (68-53), kills (55-37), assists (53-36), and digs (49-35) while the Mountain Lions held the advantage in aces (9-8) and blocks (7-5).
- Fritz recorded her 16th double digit kill performance of the season with a match-high of 15 in the win, marking the fifth time she has recorded 15 or more kills in a game.
- Driscoll notched her 11th game of the season with double digit kills while McAtee recorded her sixth. McAtee also added her seventh match of the year with three or more total blocks.
- Keni secured her eighth double-double of the season as she reached 30 or more assists for the 12th time this season. Nyia Setla collected the first double-double of her career and posted a career-high of 11 assists.Â
