West Liberty, W.Va. – The West Liberty women's soccer team once again defended their home field on Wednesday evening, defeating Davis & Elkins 2-0 at the West Family Athletic Complex. The Hilltoppers kept their home record unblemished, improving to 4-0-3, while recording their third shutout of the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• West Liberty entered the halftime break with a 1-0 advantage after Rileigh Gualtiere sent a cross pass to Asia Espiritu, who then headed in her fourth goal of the season from the top of the six yard box in the 38th minute.
• Shortly after the start of the second half, Morgan Kost found Amelia Compston cutting through a pair of defenders into the box and sent the ball in the left side of the net past the Davis & Elkins goalkeeper to make it a 2-0 in the 53rd minute.
• After only needing to make one save in the opening half, Zara Wickert made five stops in the second half to record her third shutout of the season.
• West Liberty held the advantage in shots (16-13), shots-on-goal (7-6), corner kicks (10-1), and saves (6-5).
