HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Jori Alexander recorded the first two shot-on-goal attempts for West Liberty. The first, which occurred as she corralled a ball that had been cleared off a corner kick in the 15th minute, was a shot that was low from approximately 30 yards out towards the center of the net and was picked up by Concord's Savannah Bates off a bounce. The second, another low shot, this time towards the bottom left corner, forced Bates to make a diving save to keep WLU off the board in the 35th minute.
  • A minute later in the 36th minute, Asia Espiritu tallied the third and final shot on target for the Black & Gold. She was able to collect the ball after the Hilltoppers put pressure on the Concord defenders and fired a long shot towards the left side of the net from approximately 30 yards out but was saved by Bates.
  • The Mountain Lions broke the scoreless tie in the 49th minute with an unassisted goal by Reeanna Cook, who fired a free kick shot from approximately 25 yards out into the top left corner of the net over the outstretched arms of Zara Wickert.
  • Wickert made five saves in both the first and second halves for her third double digit save performance of the season. She helped the Hilltopper defense limit the Concord attack to only one goal after entering the match averaging 3.8 goals per game this season.
  • Concord held the advantage in shots (23-9), shots-on-goal (11-3), and corner kicks (9-1) while West Liberty held the edge in saves (10-3).
