West Liberty, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's soccer team was unable to complete the season sweep of Davis & Elkins on Wednesday evening, falling by a score of 1-0. While the teams were even in total shot attempts, the Senators found the back of the net for the lone goal of the match late in the first half.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The lone goal of the match came in the 30th minute of play as Shemar Daley floated a pass over the heads of the West Liberty defenders to Johan Magana at the six yard box, who then found the left corner of the net for Davis & Elkins.
- The Hilltoppers posted three shots-on-goal in the first half, with their best look being a shot by Jasper Newton fired toward the bottom left corner of the net, forcing the D&E goalkeeper to make a diving save in the 43rd minute.
- With only two shot-on-goal attempts in the second half, the best scoring opportunity occurred in the 87th minute as Joseph Fonagy led the WLU attack into the 18 yard box before firing a shot on target.
- Davis & Elkins held the advantage in shots-on-goal (6-5) while West Liberty held the edge in corner kicks (6-5). The teams were even with 14 shots and five saves apiece.
