West Liberty, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's soccer team found their way back into the win column and remained undefeated at home on the season with a 2-1 defeat of West Virginia Wesleyan. Following a scoreless first half of play, the Hilltoppers found the back of the net twice in the span of one minute and 26 seconds and held off the Bobcats who added their own goal only 23 seconds later.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- West Liberty started the second half scoring barrage with a goal from Amelia Compston in the 50th minute, as she placed the corner kick directly over the outstretched hands of the WVWC goalkeeper and into the net on the far post.
- The Hilltoppers pushed the lead to 2-0 in the 52nd minute as Maya Taggart found Katie Farley at the top of the six yard box on a cross pass, who then proceeded to head the ball into the top left corner of the net.
- Only 23 seconds after the Black & Gold went up 2-0, West Virginia Wesleyan cut the lead back in half as Beth Burchett beat the WLU defense down the left side of the field and pushed the ball into the right side of the net.
- West Liberty held the advantage in shots-on-goal (9-6) and corner kicks (5-4), while West Virginia Wesleyan held the edge in saves (7-5). The teams were even at 16 shots apiece.
