West Liberty, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's soccer team got back into the win column on Sunday afternoon as they came from behind to defeat West Virginia Wesleyan 2-1. With all three goals scored in the second half, the Bobcats scored early after the break, but the Hilltoppers were able to respond with a pair of goals midway through the half off corner kick sets.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- One of the top goal scorers in the MEC, Sinasi Emre Deniz was able to give West Virginia Wesleyan the 1-0 lead in the 56th minute as he collected a pass from Casey Bunker near the top of the six yard box, spun and placed the ball past the keeper on the far post.
- West Liberty knotted the game at one goal apiece in the 68th minute on a corner kick set, as Rhys Lewis corralled the ball after being headed away by a pair of Bobcat defenders and found Jan Goebel in front of the open net to head the ball in.
- Once again off a corner kick set, Lewis collected a ball that had been deflected and placed it through a pair of WVWC defenders into the back of the net for his first career goal in the 78th minute to give WLU the 2-1 advantage.
- West Liberty held the advantage in shots (15-10), shots-on-goal (7-5), and corner kicks (12-8), while West Virginia Wesleyan held the edge in saves (5-4)
- The win marked West Liberty's second of the season in which they trailed at halftime or later in the match.
