WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. - After eight matches to start the season on the road the West Liberty University volleyball team will play its home opener tomorrow night. First serve is set for 6 pm from the Academic, Sports and Recreation Complex against Pitt-Johnstown. This will be the first solo match day for the Hilltoppers this season.
West Liberty went 3-1 at the Cedarville Invite in Cedarville, Ohio last weekend. The Hilltoppers stormed out of the gates and won the first three matches before falling to Seton Hill in the finale to even their overall record at 4-4.
Pitt-Johnstown enters the match with a 2-5 record across two early season tournaments. Each tournament featured one Mountain Cat victory with a 1-2 performance at the Fairmont State Tournament and a 1-3 outing at the Wayne State Tournament.
Ruby Countryman leads the Hilltoppers with 61 kills and 23 blocks on the young season. Countryman was named Hilltopper of the Week for her 37 kills and 16 blocks at the Cedarville Invite.
Nyia Setla paces the Hilltopper defense with 161 digs from the libero position and also is tied for the team lead in service aces, at nine. Setla earned Mountain East Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors after recording 95 digs over four matches last weekend.

West Liberty will return to the court for four more home matches when they host the Atlantic Region Crossover. The first match in the event for the Black and Gold is Friday at 1 pm against Shippensburg.
