LATROBE, Pa. - The West Liberty University women's tennis team earned its second consecutive 7-0 sweep to start the fall season on Saturday afternoon at Seton Hill.
The Hilltoppers dominated with an 18-5 advantage in doubles games and 72-17 stronghold in singles games.
Daria Shchoma led the Black and Gold with a double bagel (6-0, 6-0) of her opponent in the #5 singles position.
Evelina Martirosyan finished her opponent in the #2 singles match with a 6-0 victory in the second set after a 6-2 win to start the match.
Gemma Cliffe and
Jaqueline Pena-Aceves both started with 6-0 victories on way to wins in the #3 and #6 singles matches, respectively.
All three doubles matches went to the Hilltoppers, with the Martirosyan and
Nathalia Valencia combo leading the way in the #2 spot with a 6-1 victory.
West Liberty will be back on the court this week at the Altantic Region ITA Championships from September 16-19 in Bloomsburg, Pa.
