The starting forward from the 2022 MEC champion West Liberty men's basketball team,
Viktor Kovacevic has extended his playing career. Kovacevic signed a pro contract with Palmer Alma Mediterranea Palma, a member of the LEB Gold league in Spain.
The Belgrade, Serbia native joined the Hilltoppers for one season after transferring from Quincy (Ill.). He started in all 32 games and averaged 8.4 points with 4.3 rebounds per game. Kovacevic tied a career-high with 19 points in the MEC Tournament championship game to help lead WLU to the tournament crown.
The LEB Gold is the second division of the Spanish basketball league system after the Liga ACB. It is run by the FEB, who was founded in 1996 and is played under FIBA rules. The news was first reported by Eurobasket.com.
