FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The nation's NCAA Division II basketball eyes will be turning to Joe Retton Arena this afternoon when No. 16 Fairmont State hosts No. 2 West Liberty in a game loaded with conference, regional and national ramifications. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m.
Coach
Ben Howlett's Hilltoppers (23-2, 17-2) rolled to their 9th straight win on Wednesday, a 114-76 rout of Frostburg State. Pat Robinson's 21 points paced five double-figure scorers for the Black and Gold. A win today would clinch West Liberty's fifth straight Mountain East Conference title.
The Falcons (20-4, 15-4) survived a brief scare at Wheeling before storming back to take a 75-68 decision. Isaiah Sanders had a team-high 18 points while Briggs Parris came off the bench to net 17 more.
