WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. - The West Liberty University volleyball team picked up its second straight sweep in as many days with a 3-0 rout of Concord this morning inside the Academic, Sports, and Recreation Center.
The Hilltoppers controlled the match from start to finish. Concord's only leads came at 1-0 in both the first and second sets.
It was nearly identical sets throughout, as WLU won by scores of 25-15, 25-16, and 25-14. The Black and Gold ended the match hitting .322, the best MEC outing this season.
West Liberty served eight aces and did not surrender an ace all match.
Ashton Wronikowski fired three to lead the Black and Gold.
Kaija Sydlowski's 11 kills led a balanced attack that featured three Hilltoppers with double digit kills.
Ruby Countryman and
Riley Cudnik added 10 apiece.
Nyia Setla paced the defense with 23 digs, while Bogunovich, Countryman and Cudnik all had a pair of blocks at the net.
West Liberty continues its stretch of south division opponents with a trip to West Virginia State on Tuesday. First serve is scheduled for 7 pm from Institute, W.Va.
