Senior Night Sweep for Volleyball

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. - The West Liberty University volleyball team completed a Senior Night sweep of Frostburg State this evening inside the Academic, Sports, and Recreation Center.

Nina Billotto had eight kills in the opening set to propel the Hilltoppers to the 1-0 lead. West Liberty jumped up 11-5 and never looked back on way to the 10-point win (25-15).

The Hilltoppers got up 15-2 in set two behind early 8-0 and 7-0 runs. Frostburg State battled back into the set, but the lead was just too much as West Liberty took it 25-18.

The Black and Gold finished the sweep with a 25-21 third set victory. Each team had late runs, but a pair of Kirsten Bogunovich kills halted the Bobcat comeback.

Billotto ended her Senior Night with a match and season high 14 kills and four blocks. Ruby Countryman and Liv McAtee added nine kills apiece. Countryman did not commit a single error finishing the match hitting .529, while McAtee ended with a .400 hitting percentage making just one error.

Bogunovich dished out a season-high 29 assists. Libero Nyia Setla led a trio of Hilltoppers with double-digit kills with 24.

Prior to the match, the team honored five graduates of the program, Nina Billotto, Kirsten Bogunovich, Jenna Caskey, Braidyn Reed, and Ashton Wronikowski.

West Liberty will be back in action on Tuesday at Fairmont State to kick off the final week of the regular season.
