WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University volleyball team didn't drop a game here Tuesday in sweeping a non-conference triangular from Pitt-Johnstown and Salem (W.Va.) inside the ASRC.

Riley Schenk's Hilltoppers (4-2) breezed past the Mountain Cats by scores of 25-23, 25-21 and 25-16 in the opening match. Pitt-Johnstown (1-1) salvaged a split on the day by sweeping the Tigers (0-4) in the middle match of the triangular before WLU blasted Salem by scores of 25-11, 25-14 and 25-12 to bring down the curtain
In the opener,
Katelynn Fritz paced a balanced attack for West Liberty with 8 kills while Maddie Clayton had another big match at the net with 5 kills and 6 blocks.
MacKenzie Daub added 6 kills and 3 blocks while
Kirsten Bogunovich charted a double-double with 11 digs and a dozen assists.
Nyia Setla led all players with 16 digs and 3 service aces.
West Liberty made short work of the Tigers in the finale, needing little more than an hour to wrap up their second sweep of the day. Fritz, Clayton, Daub and
Riley Cudnik all checking in with 6 kills. Setla had a match-high 18 digs to go with three more aces while Bogunovich led all players with 11 assists.
The Hilltoppers hit the road for another big weekend tournament on Friday, making the short trek to Western Pennsylvania to compete in the Vulcan Invitational hosted by California (Pa.) University.
