CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The regionally-ranked University of Charleston men's tennis team defeated West Liberty, 7-0, here Sunday in a Mountain East Conference match at the Schoenbaum Courts.
Coach Ronnie Hulewicz's youthful Hilltoppers (4-8, 4-3) struggled to find any traction against the powerful Golden Eagles (10-2, 6-0), who didn't drop a set in rolling to their ninth straight win.
Charleston swept all three doubles matches to claim the doubles point and followed that up with six straight-set wins in single to complete the shutout.
The West Liberty men close out their regular season schedule on Saturday with a noon match at West Virginia Wesleyan.
