Setla Tabbed as MEC Defensive Player of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – West Liberty University volleyball standout Nyia Setla was honored on Monday as the Mountain East Conference's Defensive Player of the Week.
Setla, a freshman libero/defensive specialist from Northville, Mich., was charted with 46 digs in the Hilltoppers' two matches. Highlighting her week was a team-best 31 digs in an historic 3-1 romp past Ohio County rival Wheeling. That victory over the No. 15 Cardinals was the first win against a nationally-ranked team in Lady Hilltopper history and the 115 total digs were a 4-set school record.
West Liberty leads the MEC and ranks No. 3 nationally with an average of 21.49 digs/set. Setla ranks third in the MEC and is in the Top 20 nationally in both Total Digs and Digs/Set for the season.
The Hilltoppers open MEC Tournament play on Tuesday when they travel to Wheeling for a quarterfinal round rematch with the Cardinals. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at the McDonough Center.
