WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's tennis team breezed to a 6-1 victory against West Virginia State Wednesday afternoon in a Mountain East Conference match at the Edgar Martin Tennis Complex.
Coach Ronnie Hulewicz's Hilltoppers (2-3, 2-1) jumped on the debuting Yellow Jackets from the start, losing a total of just two games in sweeping the three doubles matches to earn the doubles point.
The dominance continued in singles play with West Liberty winning five of the six singles matches in straight sets.
Anton Schulz (No. 2 singles),
Daisuke Aota (No. 3 singles) and
Derek Roehner (No. 5 singles) didn't lose a single game.
The West Liberty men hit the road on Saturday for a 1 p.m. match at Frostburg State.
