No. 2 Seed on the Line for WLU Women, Cardinals

    WHEELING, W.Va. – Second place in the Mountain East Conference North Division and a No. 2 seed in next week's MEC Tournament is on the line this afternoon when the West Liberty women close out the regular season at Ohio County rival Wheeling.
    Tipoff for the mutual regular season finale is set for 2 p.m. inside the McDonough Center. In accordance with the MEC's safe competition guidelines, no spectators will be permitted inside the arena.                                         
    Coach Kyle Cooper's Hilltoppers (8-7) rolled to their 6th win in the last 7 games on Wednesday with a 94-69 blowout of Fairmont State. Arriana Manzay's 20 points paced a balanced attack with all five starters reaching double figures.
    The Cardinals (7-8) dropped a 71-69 heartbreaker at Alderson Broaddus on Wednesday despite getting 24 points and 17 rebounds from Lilly Ritz and 21 points from Lauren Calhoun on 9-of-11 shooting.
