WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The No. 23-ranked West Liberty men welcome fast-rising Wheeling to the ASRC tonight in the first meeting of the season between the neighboring rivals.
Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. but in accordance with the MEC's safe competition guidelines, no spectators will be permitted inside the arena.
Coach
Ben Howlett's Hilltoppers (7-3) returned to the national rankings this week after spanking W.Va. Wesleyan, 111-64, on Sunday behind a season-high 34 points from
Dalton Bolon.
Will Yoakum weighed in with 17 points and
Bryce Butler added a dozen more as WLU blew past the 100-point mark for the third straight game.
The improving Cardinals (2-5) saw their two-game winning streak halted on Monday but not before battling No. 22-ranked Charleston to the wire in a nail-biting 73-69 setback. Jordan Reid and Jarrett Haines had 24 and 22 points, respectively, for Wheeling.
