WHEELING, W.Va. – Top-seeded and No. 11-ranked West Liberty makes its 2020 Mountain East Conference Tournament debut tonight with a quarterfinal test against No. 8 seed Concord. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. at WesBanco Arena.

Ben Howlett's Hilltoppers (24-4) haven't played since a 90-76 win against Wheeling on Feb. 29. West Liberty led by as many as 25 points in the second half with five Hilltopper players finishing in double figures.
The Mountain Lions (12-17) eliminated No. 9 seed Notre Dame, 73-68, in Wednesday night's opening round. Trey Brisco tossed in 23 of his game-high 27 points after halftime to fuel Concord's fourth win in the last five games.
The Black and Gold defeated Concord, 88-84, in an MEC Tournament semifinal a year ago in this building. West Liberty also swept the Mountain Lions this season by scores of 104-79 and 116-74. The Hilltoppers have gone 21-3 in the last 24 encounters with Concord to take a 43-31 series lead.
The winner of tonight's quarterfinal matchup advances to Saturday night's 6 p.m. semifinal against the winner of tonight's late game between No. 4 seed W.Va. State (18-9) and No. 5 seed Wheeling (14-12).
