HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The West Liberty University men's tennis team wrapped up its run at the Hilton Head Spring Tennis Fest on Thursday with a 5-2 victory against Michigan Tech.
A tiebreaker win by the Hilltoppers' No. 2 doubles team of
Gianluca Gerndt and
Akira Kawabata combined with a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles by
Anton Schulz and
Zarion Jones to clinch the doubles point for Coach Ron Hulewicz's Black and Gold.
Florian Dulac and Schulz claimed straight-set wins at No. 1 and 2 singles, respectively, before Gerndt (No. 4 singles) and Jones (No. 6 singles) sealed the match with super-tiebreaker wins.
