LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The West Liberty University men's tennis team opened its "spring" schedule here on Saturday with a 6-1 loss to Bellarmine (Ky.) University at the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex.
Coach Ronnie Hulewicz's youthful Hilltoppers found themselves in an early hole after the host Knights swept the three doubles matches to earn the doubles point.
West Liberty freshman
Florent Dulac came through with an impressive three-set win against Bellarmine's Evan Botorff at No. 1 singles but none of the other Hilltoppers managed to get into the winner's circle.
The Black and Gold will put their tournament prowess to the test Friday and Saturday when they head to Charleston to compete in the Golden Eagle Invitational.
