WHEELING, W.Va. – The West Liberty women make the short trek down Route 88 this afternoon for the first meeting of the year with Ohio County rival Wheeling. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. at the McDonough Center.

Kyle Cooper's Hilltoppers (7-10, 3-8) battled high-scoring Urbana to the wire on Wednesday only to come out on the short end of a 95-86 shootout.
Taylor Johnson led the way with 26 points while

Audrey Tingle added 20 and 17 tallies, respectively.
The Cardinals (5-12, 4-7) threw a scare into No. 24-ranked Notre Dame on Wednesday before dropping a 65-56 road decision. Lilly Ritz dominated the paint with 17 points and 18 rebounds.
This is the 94th game between the neighboring rivals since women's basketball became an official WVIAC sport in the 1981-82 season. The West Liberty women have won 24 of the last 28 meetings to open up a 52-41 lead in the all-time series.
