WLU Women Welcome New Foe

    WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty women tip off a brand-new rivalry today when Mountain East Conference newcomer Frostburg State makes its first-ever visit to the ASRC. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.

    Coach Kyle Cooper's Hilltoppers (6-9, 2-7) came out cold in the first half on Wednesday and couldn't battle back in an 84-67 loss to Fairmont State. Morgan Brunner had 20 points, Taylor Johnson added 18 and Audrey Tingle pulled a career-high 17 rebounds.
    The Bobcats (2-13, 1-8) took Wheeling to the wire on Wednesday only to fall short by a 64-60 tally. Victoria Diggs and Amanda Emory finished with 19 and 17 points, respectively.
    Frostburg State and Davis & Elkins joined the MEC at the start of the 2019-20 academic year. The Bobcats are in the process of reclassifying from NCAA D2 to NCAA D3 affiliation.
