Coach Ben Howlett's Hilltoppers (11-3, 6-2) scored 83 first-half points on Saturday and rolled to a 129-89 victory against Glenville State. Will Yoakum led the way with a career-high 33 points while Malik McKinney added a career-high 20 points and 6 assists.
The Falcons (10-3, 5-3) had their 3-game winning streak snapped on Saturday in an 85-83 upset at Notre Dame. Dale Bonner's 22 points paced four double-figure scorers for Fairmont.
This is the 176th meeting between Fairmont and West Liberty since the 1923-24 season. FSU still holds a 96-79 lead in the all-time series. It has been a different story in recent seasons, however, as the Hilltoppers have gone 31-6 against the Falcons since 2005.
