Top Offenses Set to Collide on the Hilltop

    WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – Two of the three highest scoring offenses in NCAA Division II basketball collide this afternoon when West Liberty hosts Glenville State in a battle for first place in the Mountain East Conference. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m. at the ASRC.

     Coach Ben Howlett's Hilltoppers (10-3, 5-2) moved back into a tie for first place in the MEC on Wednesday with a 104-79 road romp at Concord. Dalton Bolon and Preston Boswell led the way with 22 and 19 points, respectively, while Malik McKinney had a season-high 18 points on 7-of-7 shooting.
    Wheeling handed Glenville State (8-5, 5-2) its third straight loss, 96-92, on Wednesday in Glenville. Najeh Scott had 21 points off the bench for GSC and Phil Bledsoe added 19.
    This is the 144th meeting between the two teams in a series that dates back nearly a century to its inception during the 1923-24 season. West Liberty swept last year's two contests and has won 23 of the last 26 encounters to take a 72-71 lead in the all-time series.
