WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's tennis team rolled to its fifth straight win Saturday, blanking West Chester (Pa.), 7-0, in a non-conference match at the Edgar Martin Tennis Complex.
Coach
Sam McCullough's youthful Hilltoppers (8-6) swept all three doubles matches to claim the doubles point and didn't drop a set in any of the six singles matches to complete the sweep.
Camilo Moncayo and
Joris Gravoulet sprinted to a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles while the No. 2 doubles tandem of
Anton Schulz and Mauk Smit claimed a 6-2 win as did WLU's No. 3 duo of
Akira Kawabata and
Nash Morris.
Morris highlighted the Hilltoppers' dominance in singles play with a 6-0 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.
The West Liberty men hit the road for another non-conference match on Wednesday, taking on future MEC foe Davis & Elkins in a 3 p.m. match.
