WHEELING, W.Va. – Two of the Mountain East Conference's most potent offenses collide today when top-seeded and No. 5-ranked West Liberty meets No. 5 seed Concord in an MEC Tournament semifinal. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. at WesBanco Arena.
Hilltopper fans who can't make it to downtown Wheeling can follow all the action right here with links to WLUTV-14's live audio stream along with live stats and video provided by the Mountain East Conference and a full game notes package from West Liberty's Sports Information Department.
Coach Ben Howlett's Hilltoppers (25-3) are coming off a 100-79 blowout win against Wheeling Jesuit in Friday's quarterfinals. Freshman guard Yahel Hill scored all 18 of his team-high points in the first 11 minutes of the second half while fellow freshman Will Yoakum had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Concord (20-9) led virtually wire-to-wire in smothering No. 4 seed Charleston, 74-62, in its semifinal matchup. Trey Brisco's 21 points paced a balanced attack for the Mountain Lions.
West Liberty swept the season series from Concord in a pair of high-scoring shootouts. The Hilltoppers eked out a 109-108 double-overtime win at the ASRC and held on for a 110-106 decision in Athens.
