SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The West Liberty University women's tennis team lost a 7-0 decision to Slippery Rock on Sunday in a non-conference match at the SRU Tennis Center.
Coach
Heather Gallagher's Hilltoppers couldn't get anything going in doubles and surrendered the doubles point to the hosts, coming up short in all three matches.
West Liberty tried to turn the momentum in singles play but found themselves hitting the comeback trail when Slippery Rock won the opening set in all six matches.
Luisa Agudelo bounced back with a 7-5 win in the second set at No. 5 singles to square the match but The Rock's Lauren Fadden prevailed by a 10-6 count in the superbreaker to complete the sweep.
The Lady Hilltoppers return to Mountain East Conference action on Tuesday when they host Fairmont State in a 4 p.m. match at the Edgar Martin Tennis Complex.
