    ATHENS, W.Va. – Two of the hottest teams in the Mountain East Conference will battle for third place in the MEC standings here Saturday afternoon when the West Liberty women take on Concord. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. at the Carter Center.

    Coach Kyle Cooper's Hilltoppers (14-7, 10-4) outlasted UVa-Wise, 69-63, on Thursday for their fifth straight win. MEC Player of the Week Marissa Brown had 26 points and 14 rebounds to lead the way.
    The surging Mountain Lions (17-4, 12-3) cruised to their 12th win in the last 13 games here Thursday night with a 68-51 win against Wheeling Jesuit. Andreanna Pool's 20 points topped a trio of double-digit scorers for Concord.
