WISE, Va. – After taking over sole possession of first place in the MEC standings, the No. 5-ranked West Liberty University men's basketball team tips off its annual southern swing through the league Thursday night at UVa-Wise. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Prior Center.

The Cavaliers (7-13, 4-10) tuned up for Thursday's game by stepping out of league play on Tuesday for an 81-48 beatdown of NAIA affiliate Berea (Ky.) at the Prior Center. Cameron Whiteside's game-high 17 points paced four double-figure scorers for the hosts.
