SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – One point away from their sixth straight victory here Tuesday night, the West Liberty University volleyball team saw Notre Dame bounce back from a 2-0 deficit to pull out a 3-2 win in Mountain East Conference action at Mueller Gym.

Kayla Mull's Hilltoppers (15-12, 7-5) appeared to be in complete control, leading 2-0 and serving for the match with a 24-23 lead in the third set but the Falcons (20-10, 7-6) reeled off the next three points to stay alive with a 26-24 win and kept right on rolling.
Notre Dame led most of the way through the fourth set, taking a 25-21 decision to force a fifth and deciding set. West Liberty opened up a 9-7 lead midway through but the Falcons scored the next 5 points to go up 12-9. The Hilltoppers closed to 13-12 on a
Nina Billotto kill but a service error let the Falcons off the hook and a kill by the hosts' Natalie Spadaro completed the comeback win.
Senior
Olivia Baumhoer hammered down a season-high 19 kills while hitting a robust .382 from the floor while Maddie Clayton stuffed the stat sheet with 16 kills, 4 service aces, 4 blocks and a .400 hitting percentage to lead the Black and Gold.
Renee Lemke and
Kendall Souder each posted double-doubles. Lemke finished with 29 assists and 20 digs while Souder weighed in with 27 assists and 10 digs. Senior
Mackenzie Sims added 22 digs in a losing cause.
The Lady Hilltoppers look to start another winning streak on Friday when they travel to Urbana for another crucial late-season MEC test.
