Fourth Straight Win for Lady Hilltoppers

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's volleyball team rolled to its fourth straight win here Friday night with a swift 3-0 shutout of Frostburg State in Mountain East Conference action at the ASRC.
Coach Kayla Mull's Hilltoppers (14-11, 6-4), who have now won 12 of their last 13 sets, took charge right from the start as they blitzed the visiting Bobcats (10-12, 2-8) with back-to-back 25-15 routs in the opening two sets.
Frostburg State was much more competitive in the third set but the Black and Gold finished strong to complete a season sweep of the Maryland squad with a 25-23 decision. West Liberty had taken three straight sets from the Bobcats in their first meeting last month.
West Liberty charted 47 kills while swinging at an impressive .388 clip on Friday. Madison Clayton hit .778 with 7 kills while Caitlin Clarke matched those 7 kills with a .500 hitting percentage.
Olivia Baumhoer, Nina Billotto and Alissa Dickson all finished with 6 kills for the Hilltoppers with at trio of WLU players – Renee Lemke (17), Kendall Souder (13) and Kirsten Bogunovich (10) – reaching double-figure assists. Seniors Kailee Cunningham and Mackenzie Sims had 11 digs.
The West Liberty women return to the ASRC on Saturday to take on Fairmont State. First serve for the Senior Day match is set for 1 p.m.
