WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University volleyball team has partnered with The Side-Out Foundation and joined its nationwide "Dig Pink" initiative in the fight against breast cancer.
Friday's 6 p.m. home match against Notre Dame (Ohio) has been designated as the Lady Hilltoppers' "Dig Pink" match, highlighting the team's fundraising efforts in support of the cause.
The team will be selling special T-shirts and collecting donations throughout the match with all proceeds from the event going to The Side-Out Foundation.
Through Side-Out's programs, the volleyball community directly sponsors clinical trials at renowned medical institutions across the country.
The Side-Out Protocol uses a unique approach that is successfully extending the lives of those living with stage IV breast cancer, the most advanced form of the disease and the least funded area of research.
