FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The West Liberty University volleyball team dropped a hard-fought 3-1 decision at Fairmont State Saturday afternoon.
Coach
Kayla Mull's Hilltoppers (8-9, 1-2) split the first two sets with the host Falcons (7-9, 1-3) by identical 25-22 scores but Fairmont took the lead with a 25-21 win in the third set and closed things out with a 25-17 decision in the fourth and final set.
Freshman
Alissa Dickson had 9 kills and 18 digs to pace the Black and Gold while
Madison Clayton added 9 kills and 5 blocks.
Morgan Farley also was charted with 9 kills to go along with 3 blocks.
Renee Lemke posted a double-double with 18 assists and 14 digs while senior
Kailee Cunningham collected a team-high 23 digs.
The WLU women return home to host Salem University in non-conference action on Monday. First serve is set for 6 p.m. at the ASRC.
