WLU Women Travel to No. 25 Charleston

    CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Two of the top women's basketball teams in the Mountain East Conference collide in Charleston on Saturday when the high-powered West Liberty offense tries to snap No. 25-ranked Charleston's 11-game winning streak.
    Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. at the Wehrle Center.

    Coach Kyle Cooper's Hilltoppers (8-5, 5-2) rank No. 3 nationally in scoring offense (87.5 ppg.) after Thursday's 100-74 romp past West Virginia State. All-America center Marissa Brown set an arena, school and conference single-game scoring record with 46 points while also picking up 18 rebounds and 8 blocked shots.
    The defensive-minded Golden Eagles (12-1, 7-0) are holding teams to an MEC-low 59.2 ppg. after throttling Wheeling Jesuit, 68-26, on Thursday. Anna Hayton's 14 points and 11 rebounds led UC, which held WJU to just 14 percent (8-of-56) shooting from the floor.
