HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The West Liberty University men's tennis team wrapped up its Spring Tennis Fest run in impressive fashion here Friday with a 9-0 shutout of Cornell (Iowa) at the Evian Tennis Center.
    Coach
Sam McCullough's Hilltoppers (4-3) swept all three doubles matches to carry what proved to be an insurmountable 3-0 lead into doubles play against the Rams (1-7).
Camilo Moncayo and Daniel Nogareda breezed to an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles while Matt Lynch and Zach Kirkwood prevailed by a 9-7 tally in a hard-fought match at No. 2 doubles. Luke Flanagan and Vincent Huynh had little trouble cruising to an 8-3 verdict at No. 3 doubles.
There was little drama to be found in singles play as the Black and Gold posted six straight-set wins to complete the sweep. Moncayo, Nogareda, Lynch, Huynh, Kirkwood and Hayden Blazer added to their victory totals for the Hilltoppers.
The West Liberty men return to action on Wednesday when they head to Millersville (Pa.) for a 3 p.m. non-conference match against the Marauders.
