WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's volleyball team locked up a share of second place in the Mountain East Conference here Saturday with a 3-1 victory against Urbana in a mutual regular season finale at the ASRC.

Kayla Mull's Hilltoppers (23-9, 11-5) jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead, sweeping the first two sets by scores of 25-19 and 25-21. The Blue Knights (21-11, 10-6) stayed alive with a 25-23 decision in the third set but WLU prevailed, 31-29, in a marathon fourth set to wrap up the win.
Kailee Cunningham had another huge match, posting a double-double with 17 kills and 19 digs.
Raimey Benson added 9 kills and 3 blocks while
Caitlin Clarke donated 9 kills and a pair of rejections.
Stephanie Leonard stepped up with 6 kills and a match-high 8 blocks.
Kendall Souder picked up another double-double with 23 assists and a dozen digs with
Renee Lemke adding 19 assists and 9 digs.
Mackenzie Sims had a team-high 25 digs and
Jo Lyn Jurek finished with 15 digs.
The Hilltoppers open play in the MEC Tournament on Thursday at Wheeling Jesuit's McDonough Center. Tournament seeds, pairings and match times will be released on Sunday afternoon.
