CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The West Liberty University women's basketball team makes its 2018-19 debut tonight against highly-touted California (Pa.) in the first game of the annual MEC/PSAC Conference Challenge at the Vulcans' Convocation Center.

Kyle Cooper's Hilltoppers are set for a 5 p.m. tipoff against the hosts with the University of Charleston and Mercyhurst following them onto the court at 7 p.m. in the second game of the doubleheader.

Coach Cooper returns nearly everyone – including NCAA Division II All-America post
Marissa Brown – from last year's squad that came on strong down the stretch to finish fourth in the 12-team MEC.
California head coach Jess Strom has another deep and talented squad headed by NCAA Division II Preseason All-American Seairra Barrett.
