Box Score WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University volleyball team wasted little time taking care of business Saturday morning, sprinting off to a 3-0 win against Notre Dame in Mountain East Conference action at the ASRC.
Coach Kayla Mull's Hilltoppers (10-8, 2-2) opened the match with a 25-21 win in the first set and took command with a 25-20 nod in the second set. West Liberty finished off the Falcons (7-10, 0-3) with a flourish, closing out the sweep with a 25-12 rout in the third set.
Raimey Benson and
Caitlin Clarke led the way for the Black and Gold. Benson hammered home a match-high 16 kills with a .387 hitting percentage to go along with 4 blocks while Clarke added a dozen kills, 11 assists and 4 service aces while hitting at an impressive .480 clip.
Kendall Souder had another double-double with 17 assists and 10 digs.
Renee Lemke paced WLU with 19 assists and and
Kailee Cunningham added a team-high 17 digs.
The Hilltoppers step out of conference play on Tuesday to host Malone (Ohio) in a 7 p.m. match at the ASRC.
