SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The surging West Liberty University volleyball team rolled to its third straight win and fifth in the last six matches here Tuesday night with a 3-0 shutout of Notre Dame in Mountain East Conference action at Murphy Gym.
Coach Kayla Mull's Hilltoppers (16-10, 7-4) took command early with a 25-16 romp in the opening set and never looked back, closing out the Falcons (12-14, 4-6) by scores of 25-17 and 25-21.
Raimey Benson had a dozen kills and three blocks for the Black and Gold while
Sydney Scherer added 10 kills and 4 blocks.
Caitlin Clarke finished with 8 kills while
Stephanie Leonard donated 7 kills and 3 blocks to the cause.
Kendall Souder had a team-high 21 assists and
Kailee Cunningham led the way with a dozen digs.
The West Liberty women return home to host Fairmont State on Friday in a 7 p.m. match at the ASRC.
