Box Score VIENNA, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's volleyball team came from behind to hand Ohio Valley a 3-2 loss here Tuesday night in a non-conference match at the Snyder Events Center.
The host Fighting Scots (0-5) had eked out a pair of 25-23 wins to take a 2-1 lead into the fourth set but Coach Kayla Fetsko-Mull's Hilltoppers (4-1) stayed alive with a 25-23 win of their own and went on to take the match with a 15-9 decision in the fifth set.
Raimey Benson led West Liberty with 13 kills, 2 aces and 3 blocks while Hanna Guidish had 10 kills and 3 blocks.
Sydney Scherer added 9 kills, an ace and 6 blocks while
Stephanie Leonard checked in with 8 kills, an ace, 6 blocks and a dozen digs.
Mackenzie Sims had 7 kills, an ace and 17 digs with
Erin Jans adding 5 kills and 5 blocks.
Miranda Garmenn and
Amanda Leonard tied for team honors with 25 assists each while Kailee Cunningham had a team-high 32 digs.
The Hilltoppers head to eastern
Pennsylvania on Friday and Saturday to compete in the East Stroudsburg Invitational.
