Box Score URBANA, Ohio – The West Liberty University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision at Urbana here Friday night in Mountain East Conference action at the Grimes Center.
Coach Kayla Fetsko-Mull's Hilltoppers (8-8, 0-3) got off to a slow start with a 25-12 loss in the opening set and saw the Blue Knights (7-7, 1-0) close out the match by coming out on top, 25-23 and 25-22, in a pair of tightly-contested sets.
Sydney Scherer led the way for the Black and Gold with 9 kills and 5 blocks while Amanda Leonard had 4 kills, 4 blocks and 10 assists in her return to the court after missing several matches due to injury. Miranda Garmenn checked in with a double-double, posting 10 assists and 11 digs in a losing cause.
The Lady Hilltoppers head to Circleville, Ohio on Saturday for a triangular match against Ohio Christian and Boyce College on the Ohio Christian University campus.
