Lady Hilltoppers Fall at Notre Dame

Box Score SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The West Liberty University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to Notre Dame (Ohio) on Tuesday in a Mountain East Conference match at Murphy Gymnasium.
Coach Kayla Fetsko-Mull's Hilltoppers (8-7, 0-2) came out on the short end of a 25-15 tally in the opening set but rebounded with a 25-20 win in the second set to square the match. The host Falcons (8-6, 1-0) pulled out a 25-21 nod in the third set before closing things out with a 25-13 victory in the fourth and final set.
Raimey Benson led West Liberty with 9 kills and 4 blocks while Stephanie Leonard added 8 kills and 5 blocks. Sydney Scherer chipped in with 7 kills and 4 blocks with Katie Cornelius posting 20 assists and Kailee Cunningham leading all players with 22 digs.
The Hilltoppers hit the road again on Friday for a 7 p.m. match at Urbana.
