FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's tennis team didn't lose a set here Wednesday afternoon in breezing to a 9-0 shutout victory against Fairmont State.
Coach Sam McCullough's Hilltoppers (12-4, 5-0) had no trouble remaining unbeaten in Mountain East Conference play, sweeping all three doubles matches from the host Falcons (5-13, 2-4) before reeling off six straight-set wins in singles play.
Perrin and Gutierrez teamed up for the win at No. 1 doubles with Tully and Flanagan earning the point at No. 2 doubles. Moncayo and Cimorra combined for the victory at No. 3 doubles.
The defending MEC champion Hilltoppers return home to host Charleston on Saturday. The match is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
