Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The West Liberty University softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to red-hot Palm Beach Atlantic here Monday by scores of 8-3 and 12-4.
    Coach Jim Bacca's Hilltoppers (1-6) carried a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the fourth in the opener but that's when the Sailfish (15-7) – who carried a 12-game winning streak into the twinbill – got their bats cranking.
    After an error opened the door, Palm Beach Atlantic batted around to plate five runs. The Sailfish added another run in the bottom of the fifth and answered a two-run sixth-inning uprising by West Liberty with two more tallies of their own in the bottom of the frame. Savanna Sieger went the distance in the circle for the hard-luck loss as six of the eight runs she surrendered were unearned.
    Julie Tenney drove in two runs with a triple and a single for West Liberty while Damia Mogielski chipped in with a pair of singles. Sieger helped her own cause at the plate with a double.
    Palm Beach Atlantic pounded out 10 hits and scored multiple runs in every inning to close out the second game via the 8-run mercy rule in the fifth.
    Taylor Paladino had a pair of singles for WLU and Madison Collett doubled home a run. Mogielski and Kylee Ensign each singled and drove in a run in a losing cause.
    West Liberty heads for Boca Raton on Tuesday to take on Lynn University in a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
