Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The West Liberty University softball team split a doubleheader with Nova Southeastern on Sunday, pulling out a 4-3 win in the opener before dropping a 10-2 decision in the second game.
    Savanna Sieger went the distance in the circle for the Hilltoppers (1-4). Sieger had two strikeouts and didn't walk a batter while holding the Sharks (5-15) to just five hits.
    Sieger also helped herself at the plate with an RBI single in the top of the seventh. Kylee Ensign added a single and a double while Nicki Mihalik also had an RBI base knock.
    Control problems proved fatal for West Liberty in thes second game as five Hilltopper hurlers combined for 11 walks, 6 wild pitches and hit a batter. Nova Southeastern took advantage of the free baserunners by jumping out to an 8-0 lead after the first two innings and coasted the rest of the way.
    Sieger drove in both West Liberty runs with a double and a single while Ensign had another multi-hit game with a single and a double.
    The Hilltoppers were scheduled to make the short trek to West Palm Beach on Monday for a 2 p.m. doubleheader at Palm Beach Atlantic.
